We proudly accept patient self-referrals, sleep lab referrals, sleep specialist referrals, otolaryngologist referrals, dentist referrals and referrals from a patient's primary care provider or specialist.

Our practice is the only one of its kind in Portland Oregon and Vancouver Washington. OUR PRACTICE IS LIMITED TO THE TREATMENT OF SLEEP APNEA. WE ARE RECOGNIZED EXPERTS AND NATIONAL AUTHORITIES IN THE FIELD OF DENTAL SLEEP MEDICINE.

We use FDA Approved custom dental devices to treat snoring and sleep apnea. These easy to use and custom fit mouth pieces are approved for treating snoring, mild, and moderate obstructive sleep apnea. The research shows that dental devices are as good as CPAP in treating this level of disease. Oral appliances have been shown through research to be worn by patients much more easily and regularly than CPAP. We now combine these devices with nasal pillows for CPAP to make those who need CPAP have a much more comfortabe experience. Take a moment to review some of the frequently asked questions about this reversible and much preferred option by patients for the treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

Do not use an oral appliance that is self-fitted with loose boil and fit as advertised on TV. They do not hold the lower jaw forward enough to effectively treat snoring or sleep apnea. In fact, a recent study shows that non-custom oral appliances do not treat snoring or sleep apnea. When holding the lower jaw forward a trained dental sleep medicine practitioner should monitor the health of your muscles around the TMJ.

WE HAVE A PROVEN PROTOCOL TO WORK WITH A PATIENT'S MEDICAL INSURANCE TO COVER THIS FDA APPROVED DENTAL DEVICE. WE MANAGE THIS TREATMENT JUST LIKE A MEDICAL OFFICE MANAGES YOUR INSURANCE. WE DO NOT ASK FOR MONEY UP FRONT (FEE-FOR-SERVICE) AND THEN EXPECT THE PATIENT TO FIGHT A THEIR INSURANCE TO COVER TREATMENT.

Sleep Medicine Network is a sleep medicine resource for the Dental Sleep Medicine Specialist. Our mission is to promote the use and research of oral appliances for the treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. We are also a leader in industry in improving the comfort and tolerability of CPAP therapy.

We accomplish these goals by actively work with our patient's medical insurance coverage and by combining oral appliances together with CPAP when it is needed to decrease CPAP treatment pressures and allow for less mask leak and skin irritation related to CPAP masks.

We provide training and resources for Dentists and Medical Providers. Sleep Medicine Network collaborates with medical colleagues to educate them about the role of oral appliances. We educate the Dentist and physicians on appropriate techniques to screen patients to improve the accuracy of the diagnosis and treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea with oral appliances and the combination device for CPAP.

We build bridges and form relationships with the medical community, especially with sleep centers; with the sleep specialist, Primary Care Provider and other professionals who play an integral part of the sleep disorders treatment mission. Sleep Medicine Network educates practitioner dentists through clinical conferences, specialized training and office management.

Sleep Medicine Network is a nationally recognized organization in the treatment of oral appliances and for its success managing medical insurance benefits for oral appliance therapy throughout the country. Medical insurance reimburses for this therapy, not dental insurance. This is directly related to the fact that this is a medical device, not a dental orthotic. A mandibular advancement device is placed on a patient to treat the medical disorder of snoring, UARS and Obstructive Sleep Apnea, not to treat a dental condition.

We have established appropriate treatment protocols that are effective and standardized. These protocols result in predictable outcomes and treatment pathways. It is our passion to develop the role of oral appliances in recognition and treatment of sleep breathing disorders.

Sleep Medicine Network is the only provider of strapless CPAP masks in the Pacific Northwest. This organization is the premier group to provide training in this option to traditional CPAP masks. We are actively collecting data for the first published research to show the improved treatment outcome with CPAP when combined with oral appliances.
